Coffee is generally known for its anti-oxidant properties. However, there are certain conditions that could consider this beverage as a risk factor. Good thing decaf coffee is now available in the market. This is the type of coffee wherein most (but not all) caffeine is removed.
Decaf coffee is indicated for hypertensive people. This will prevent the sudden increase in blood pressure because of its very little caffeine content. There are two methods of decaffeinating coffee: Swiss Water method and solvent method. The Swiss Water method treats coffee beans with hot water and steam to take the caffeine out. The solvent method, on the other hand, make use of solvent to absorb caffeine from the beans after which, beans are washed to remove the solvent.
